Inclusion BC’s conference Everyone Belongs! is coming to Nanaimo this spring to connect those in the community with the latest information and resources on inclusion and diversity.
CHLY speaks with Karla Verschoor, executive director of Inclusion BC, to learn more about the conference. She says the main theme of the conference is advocacy and there will be space for attendees to connect and figure out ways to create positive change.
Verschoor says although the conference is focused on supporting those with intellectual developmental disabilities and their families, it also offers resources and education for those interested in strengthening incision in their community.
She explains that this conference is a great time for those who may find themselves isolated due to their disabilities, to connect with those similar to them.
