The Regional County Municipality of (MRC) of Pontiac is looking for residents of the region who have a room to spare in an effort to find temporary accommodation for professionals looking to move to the area.
Rachel Soar-Flandé, a housing agent with the MRC’s economic development department, explained that given the demand for labour in Pontiac’s health and education facilities, combined with a limited amount of available housing, they wanted to be more proactive in attracting and retaining new residents.
The program is a collaboration with the Carrefour jeunesse-emploi du Pontiac, whose Place aux Jeunes program aims to attract young professionals to the Pontiac and support their integration into the community.
