At the most recent MRC Pontiac council of mayors meeting on April 17, the final resolution of the evening was to terminate an employee with cause. CHIP 101.9 has learned that the person in question was was newly hired economic development director, Pierre Cadieux.
Cadieux’s hiring was approved at a special meeting of MRC council on March 13 of this year and had only been on the job for weeks before his departure.
MRC Director General Kim Lesage confirmed that Cadieux was no longer employed by the MRC, but declined to comment further. CHIP 101.9 has not verified the reason for Cadieux’s firing and the MRC declined to comment, however, he was still in a probationary period of his contract, giving the MRC more latitude when it comes to terminating his employment.
