Mission city staff is accepting submissions to the second phase of its Official Community Plan (OCP), used to guide future development considerations in the city, until July 15.
Mayor Paul Horn said the opinions of Mission residents is crucial.
“We really want people to have a say. It doesn’t matter what Paul Horn thinks, or what city council thinks. What matters is what residents of Mission think.”
Horn stressed that need for essential amenities such as parks, daycares, and grocery stores.
Horn also highlighted to need to provide jobs within Mission so that people have job opportunities closer to home.
“We lose about 67 per cent of our adult population every day to commuting in this community,” Horn said, “We really want to make sure there are places for people to work in all the sectors.”
