Following a report on homelessness being presented to Minto council on Tuesday, the town’s deputy mayor took the conversation in a new direction.
Jean Anderson made a call for more mental health resources across Wellington County, and commented on the lack of shelter spaces available locally.
She also raised concerns over the understaffed nature of the Here 24/7 service.
While this service offers mental health and addictions support, Anderson said she was of the mindset that many only feel they can get reliable help in the case of an emergency.
