On Thursday, McGill’s floor fellows received a shock — the university was cutting their position at the end of term. Floor fellows are McGill’s version of residence advisors. They live in residence halls, offering workshops and one-on-one support to the thousands of students who choose to live in dorms.
McGill says it chose not to hire floor fellows back following an internal review. Instead, they’ll be increasing the number of Residence Life Facilitator positions, which do not require students to live on campus.
