The Massimadi Foundation is putting on a special mini-festival this weekend for Black History Month. Themed Transcendence, this year’s film festival will showcase stories of artistic success from the afro-queer community.
CKUT spoke to festival president Laurent Lafontant about what’s in store for this weekend, as well as how the Foundation is fighting against the systemic racism and homophobia facing afro-queer artists in Montreal.
Transcendence runs from Feb. 15 to 18 at the McCord Stewart Museum.
