The final stamp of approval has been given to the budget in Mapleton Township. At last night’s council meeting, council approved the budget and tax rate increase of 3.55 per cent which works out to $65.63 for the average property owner.
Patrick Kelly, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, said to keep the rate at the projected number some budget items had to be deferred. He said by approving the budget early, the township could move to the front of the line in regards to planned projects.
