A new manufacturing facility is coming to Fergus, bringing with it the promise of at least 100 jobs.
Hammond Manufacturing acquired 11.5 acres in the new Fergus Business Park, becoming the first business to open there.
Alex Stirling, executive vice-president, explained that available, serviced land is hard to come by so when they got word Centre Wellington was establishing a business park, they expressed interest immediately.
Centre Wellington Mayor Shawn Watters said the Township bought the 45 acres of land that is now the business park at the beginning of 2020 and took a “build it and they will come” approach.
Hammond Manufacturing expects to open sometime in 2026 and employ over 100 people.
