When renowned musician and songwriter Robbie Robertson visited his home reserve of Six Nations of the Grand River in 1996 it was a big deal, especially as he brought a film crew that was creating a PBS special on Robertson. Elaine Bomberry interviewed Robertson on her radio show Aboriginal Airwaves and recorded the interview on cassette tape which was recently digitized by CKRZ FM where the original interview took place.
In Part 1 and Part 2 of our series we heard that original interview with Bomberry and Robertson. In this final Part 3 of our series we again speak with Bomberry and we also hear from Six Nations musician Derek Miller who was just starting to get recognized in 1996. He had the opportunity to jam with Robertson in his garage.
Robertson passed away on August 9, 2023.
