The Good Vibes Foundation, a registered Canadian charity, is donating 1,000 turkeys to families in need across the GTA, addressing the rising cost of living and food insecurity within the city.
The local charity partnered with the Toronto District Catholic Board and Durham District School Board, identifying students and families who could benefit most from the donation.
The Good Vibes Foundation unloaded turkeys at eight different schools, travelling from Etobicoke to Oshawa. James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic School was one of them.
Daily Bread Food Bank and North York Harvest Food Bank report that one in ten people rely on food banks.
CJTM News got a chance to speak with the President Tony Downey of the charity and the school’s Community Relations Officer Olivia Campbell who helped coordinate this effort.
