Grief is something almost all of us will face at some point in our lives. It can be a lonely, frightening, and even frustrating experience. Like many mental health challenges, grief often comes with stigma and misunderstandings about how to cope, what kind of support is needed, and how to communicate with those who are grieving.
The Compassionate Grief Centre in Saint John is working to change that.
With its unique ‘Grief Cafe,’ the Centre is creating a space for open conversations, breaking down the stigma around grief, and providing a comfortable, welcoming space for people to share their stories of loss.
CFMH News visited Founder Jamie Godfrey and Counsellor Kat Presti at the Centre to hear more about how their work is impacting the community.
