The Liverpool bar in downtown Sherbrooke will not reopen in 2024. The establishment has been closed since January 2024 due to a fire that damaged the neighboring building.
Business owner Annie Faucher explained that ongoing reconstruction of the shared wall with the burnt building means repairs will extend beyond this year. “We maintain good communication with the property group, but much analysis is still needed,” said Faucher.
The Liverpool has received significant support from customers, employees, and the downtown business community.
Faucher plans to maintain engagement through updates on their website and supporting downtown events. Relocating is not an option, as the Liverpool’s identity is deeply tied to its current location.
