Plans are afoot to transform Queen Square into an urban space on private land at the corner of Queen and Samuel Grantham streets.
This announcement was made by André Blais, the director of the City of Lennoxville, during the Plenary Committee Meeting of the Borough of Lennoxville on February 27th.
The town has pledged financial support of $18,950 to facilitate this transformation.
This initiative, led by Entreprendre Sherbrooke, aims to replace the longstanding Lennoxville Street Festival with ongoing animation and management activities.
Formalizing the utilization of the private land is subject to a written agreement between Entreprendre Sherbrooke and the property owners. City councillors emphasized the importance of maintaining Queen Square’s appeal to citizens and visitors while supporting local businesses downtown.
