This year’s Kootenay Seniors Expo, hosted by Kootenay Seniors – a program run by Nelson Cares, will include a cannabis wellness coach for the first time.
Jesse Woodword, a program assistant with Kootenay Seniors says that the new coach will provide resources and educational opportunities for seniors on cannabis.
“When legalization happened, one of the biggest growth markets was the senior population… It’s important for them to have pain control that’s not pharmaceutical,” he says.
Attendees of the expo can expect a day filled with informative guest speakers, exhibitors, coffee, snacks and opportunities to connect with fellow seniors, Woodword adds.
The event is on June 5 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Lakeside Place Amenity Room at 805 Nelson Ave. More information can be found online.
