Kingston WritersFest (KWF) has announced that The Screening Room will be the new primary venue for this year’s festival after 15 years at the Holiday Inn.
At the KWF launch party last week, it was announced that the independent theatre in the heart of downtown will be host to on-stage author events, the festival bookshop, and KWF’s box office during the 16th annual festival in September.
“The landscape for non-profit arts organizations has changed significantly since COVID — it’s given us new opportunities to connect and showcase our community in meaningful ways,” explains Aara Macauley, KWF’s Artistic Director. “Our goal is to provide a welcoming space for artists and audiences in special local venues, where the atmosphere for audiences matches the excitement of the events on the stage.”
KWF will also spread throughout downtown Kingston with multiple new off-site locations nearby, including The Mansion and Something in the Water Brewing Company.
