Montreal’s image+nation festival kicks off tonight with a screening of Luca Guadaguino’s ‘Queer.’ The film stars Daniel Craig as Beat legend William S. Burroughs in an adaptation of his autobiographical novel.
It’s the kind of big-name film that brings people out to the cinema – and image+nation programming director Kat Setzer hopes it’ll entice audiences to learn more about the festival, which in its 37th year is the oldest dedicated to screening queer films in Canada.
This year, the National Film Board headquarters are playing host to slate of panels, each with a different genre or community focus.
Image+nation runs from November 20 to 30th.
