RCMP in Prince Rupert announced on Friday (September 20) that they have launched a number of search warrants related to a drug trafficking bust on September 6th.
Several addresses in the 1600 block of Second Avenue West were searched, as well as a residence in the 100 block of Ninth Avenue East, and a vessel tied up at the Atlin Terminal was also seized.
Three individuals were arrested and released pending further investigation, according to RCMP. Police recovered cocaine and prescription pills, cash and a counting machine, two rifles and ammunition, four vehicles and two Seadoos.
In a press release, Corporal James Alden, of the Prince Rupert RCMP General Investigation Section said, “a drug seizer of this magnitude in our small community indicates significant connections to organised crime networks in the province and we remain committed to disrupting and dismantling those networks to enhance community safety
.”
