Homegrown Live Music Festival is returning on Saturday with their biggest festival since the pandemic.
Homegrown is a one-day festival that raises funds for the Joe Chithalen Musical Instrument Lending Library, or Joe’s M.I.L.L., a non-profit in Kingston that aims to make instruments accessible to the community.
This year’s lineup includes over 130 local bands performing at 16 venues downtown. Each venue will have its own genre: this year’s selection set to include jazz, hip-hop, country, and, for the first time in around a decade, classical.
“I’m just so happy that we have it back,” said Chris Morris, festival director for Homegrown, regarding the addition of a classical venue. “It was just one part of the music scene we haven’t been able to work with for a while.”
Kingstonians can enjoy live music downtown starting at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow and running until the end of the night.
