Last week, Quebec health and wellness commissioner Joanne Castonguay released the fourth in a string of reports on the province’s home-care system. It’s a system that is “complex,” “inefficient” and “not financially sustainable,” according to this latest report.
Castonguay sat down with CKUT to discuss the scale of the problems as well as what the government can do to help seniors age with autonomy. That includes simplifying and decentralizing service provision, increasing government investment, but also means testing access – a more controversial proposition.
