The Gorge Harbour Marina Resort has begun reopening facilities and operations after a year of renovations and new leadership.
Marco Beditti, general manager of the marina, noted all the upgrades to the grounds of the resort, as well as the traditions that will remain. Decisions were made in order to keep the resort safe and profitable.
“The gorge is a beautiful place, but it’s been years and years of using it and enjoying it without doing major renovations.”
New geodesic dome shelters will replace some of the campsites, which were inspired by the infrastructure at the local Lavender Farm. The pool and hot tub are now open to the public, after approval from the Vancouver Island Health Authority.
The resort will host a “soft reopening” on May 17 to symbolize the return of dock reservations and accommodations.
