This Friday, Oct. 18 is the 35th Nuit des sans-abri, when Quebecers come together to raise awareness around homelessness and show solidarity with their unhoused neighbours.
With a theme of “homelessness: 100 faces,” this year’s event aims to show the many different kinds of people who can find themselves experiencing homelessness.
One of the organizers of the Montreal edition is the Réseau d’aide aux personnes seules et itinérantes de Montréal (RAPSIM), an umbrella organization for frontline groups in the city. CKUT speaks to the RAPSIM’s Catherine Marcoux about what Montrealers can expect from the event.
The Nuit des sans-abri begins with a march in Square Phillips at 5:00 p.m., followed by a vigil starting at 6:30 p.m. in Place Émilie-Gamelin.
