In a report released on Friday it was revealed that Utilities Kingston is not recommending the City move forward with the Regional Biosolids and Biogas Facility at Knox Farm.
Neighbours of the site and local environmental advocates have been raising concerns surrounding the potential impact on their homes and the environment. However, it was not the main concerns raised by community members that ultimately led to the recommendation, but instead the overall financial feasibility of embarking on the $83M project.
The report and recommendation not to move forward with the facility will be considered by the Environment, Infrastructure, and Transportation Policies Committee at their next meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
