Two California based producers made a presentation to the Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) on Tuesday to seek permission to shoot a feature length film on Six Nations of the Grand River territory.
Ryan Furlong of Fenian Films, and California based producer Chris Cowels are seeking permission to film the feature length film ‘‘For the Love of Rose”.
Many questions were asked in regards to safety. Councillor Dayle Bomberry had also asked the timeline for the filming of the movie and how long the filming would be happening on Six Nations. Other questions were asked about the content and context of the film. Furlong responded by saying a Mohawk was written into the script and that the film takes place in a modern time.
There was no final decision on the allowing of filming on Six Nations, however it was moved that the request be passed on to the education and culture department.
