CEGEP students are back in the classroom after the Common Front’s latest strike wrapped up on Friday December 15. But CEGEP teachers and staff say they’re ready to go on unlimited general strike in January if they don’t see more movement at the bargaining table.
That starts with more time — while other education unions are reporting some progress, CEGEP unions say the province hasn’t changed the pace of negotiations since the summer, despite repeated strikes.
Without more days at the table, CEGEP workers will continue to feel “neglected” and “invisible,” union leaders told reporters outside the Higher Education office on Wednesday December 13.
