A GoFundMe started to help a father and daughter displaced by a house fire in the Columbia Park neighbourhood has surpassed its $5000 goal.
The house fire occurred in the late afternoon on Wednesday, July 10. According to a statement from the City of Revelstoke, the Revelstoke Fire Department responded to the call with one command vehicle, five fire apparatus and 21 firefighters. There were no injuries to the occupants or firefighters. Emergency Support Services provided assistance to the two occupants on scene.
The GoFundMe was set up by a family member to help cover living expenses. Just over $8000 has been raised so far.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
