Everlasting Tree School, an alternative Mohawk language immersion school on Six Nations, is requesting $2.6 million in Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) funding to build an expansion on its current building.
Everlasting Tree School follows Waldorf education, which is described as, “a developmentally appropriate, experiential, and academically rigorous approach to education. They integrate the arts in all academic disciplines,” on the Waldorf School’s website.
Everlasting Tree School says in the upcoming school year, its student population will reach 80 students and the current building will be at capacity. The school has secured $2 million in funding and are looking for the additional $2.6 million in funding from SNEC.
SNEC accepted the presentation from Everlasting Tree School as information and will have a decision on the funding request at a later date.
