In Northern BC, scepticism surrounds Electric Vehicles (EVs), their range, all-terrain capability, cold weather functionality, affordability, and social acceptance are all called into question. Appearing in Prince George to address these doubts are Richard & Nicole Ivity, travelling over 75,000km since May 2023 amidst North America’s challenging terrain in a Rivian R1T.
The Ivitys own and operate Exigent Endeavors, an all-things-EV consulting firm. They were bitten by wanderlust during the pandemic and set out on an endless adventure, travelling in a conventional combustion engine SUV. After a while it became evident that an EV may open up some destinations, as opposed to removing them. Having fun along the way, they’ll set off to Prince Rupert from Prince George with an EV convoy, poker-run style this weekend.
The couple is hosted by The Energy Transition Group and will be available 9:30am-12pm Saturday November 2nd at Rivers Edge Services, 3981 18 Ave, Prince George.
