The Town of Erin is moving ahead with plans to renovate the Erin Community Centre by awarding CPM Construction the tender, making the decision Wednesday.
CPM’s bid was the lowest at just over $2.9 million dollars.
Parks and Recreation Officer Dee-Enna Dube told council a lot of the renovations – like a new HVAC system, electrical and fire system upgrades and new generator – won’t be visible to visitors.
Some of the cosmetic improvements to the building include new flooring in the lower lobby, upgrades to the snack bar including replacing the countertop with stainless steel, the bathrooms will get new partitions, toilets and fixtures.
The project is estimated to take a year to complete.
