The Major Series Lacrosse playoffs began earlier this season, but the Cobourg Kodiaks had to once again find a new home for the postseason.
Cobourg’s MSL club has become accustomed in recent years to moving out of the Cobourg Community Centre for the playoffs as ice gets installed in the Bowl arena. But general manager and co-owner John Webb told CFWN they were surprised to not get some post season games in at the CCC as their opening round began July 17.
Cobourg’s manager of facilities Jason Johns says ice bookings in the Bowl arena at the CCC usually begin in mid-August and the installation is approximately at least a three-week process. This year, the ice was installed the middle of July.
The Kodiaks host Game 2 of their MSL semifinal series against the Six Nations Chiefs tonight at the Jack Burger Sports Complex in Port Hope.
