Community members finally got some answers on Monday night about the recent conflict that has engulfed the Astor Theatre in Liverpool. It was the second time in two days that community members got together to discuss the issues at the historic theatre. Listen to the report about the first meeting here.
More than 100 people showed up at the Monday night meeting at Liverpool Regional High School which was called by supporters of former Astor employee Ashley-Rose Goodwin.
The meeting was called by parents and other supporters of Goodwin who alleged that the Astor board and recently hired executive director Jerri Southcott made it impossible for her to stay.
The two-and-a-half-hour-long meeting was at times raucous, revealing the rifts that have rocked the Astor over the past month since Goodwin resigned as associate artistic director.
Goodwin has been silent publicly since her departure. On Monday night, she broke that silence.
