The fourth annual Crimson Coast Dance’s African Connections has kicked off celebrating African culture.
The event is to celebrate and educate people about Africa and the culture of it and for people to get hands-on African cultural experiences.
CHLY spoke to the curator of the event, Do Amaral, last night at the Celebrate Africa Fair. The fair is one of the events happening throughout February for African Connections. Do Amaral talks about the importance of hosting events like these and how it allows everyone in Nanaimo to connect with African culture.
As well CHLY speaks with Kizomba teacher, Fabian Gonzalez, and performer Sean Chigumba about them sharing their own African culture at the fair.
