Craft NB, the longest standing provincial craft council in Canada, opened their permanent collection to the public at Fredericton’s George Fry Art Gallery last night.
Celebrating their 60th anniversary, the collection is an array of works by the masters of craft in New Brunswick, with some pieces dating all the way back to the 1970s. It includes pieces by Dr. Ivan Crowell, a master pewtersmith and weaver, one of the founders of Fredericton’s New Brunswick College of Craft and Design and Craft NB itself.
Listen to find out how over their six decades of work, the organization has supported their members and maintained longevity in their niche corner of the New Brunswick’s visual arts community.
