The County of Wellington has a new centralized application and waitlist for licensed childcare.
Organizers say the mobile-friendly application, the “Wellington-Guelph Child Care Application and Waitlist,” that has been in the works for about a year-now is designed to keep up with increasing demand.
Mandy Koroniak, the county’s director of children’s early years, says a wealth of new features are included in the application, including the ability to receive program information directly from programs in which a user has registered on their waitlist.
Koroniak says work isn’t done yet as far as county childcare goes, but Warden Andy Lennox is proud of the step taken by staff.
“The introduction of this new system reflects the county’s commitment to finding innovative solutions that address the needs of our residents,” Lennox stated in the county’s release.
Set to launch in April of 2024, CICW got more information from Koroniak on the new tool.
