Six Nations Coun. Dean Hill will be attending the World Indigenous Business Forum (WIBF) in Albuquerque, New Mexico in October on behalf on Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) for the first time in its existence.
SNEC says the purpose for Hill attending will be to create relationships with First Nations communities in both the United States and Canada, as well as looking at different ways the community can begin to generate own sourced revenue through different projects.
Economic development and self-sourced revenue have been a priority for the 59th elected council, as they look to source funds to help support some of the community’s financial needs.
During the Sept. 20 Chief and Council Radio Show, Coun. Greg Frazer also said that council is looking to engage with community members to understand what direction the community would like to see SNEC and its nation owned businesses to go in economic development.
