Dartmouth waterfront’s revitalization plan is set to go ahead.
During Tuesday’s Halifax regional council meeting, a now declassified report on the Downtown Dartmouth Revitalization Project was released.
Eric Lindsay, a planner for HRM, presented the plan during the meeting. Lindsay said Halifax Port Authority, Alderney Landing, ferry terminal, ferry terminal park, King’s Wharf, Dartmouth Cove and emergency access to the area are all of interest to develop and enhance the Dartmouth waterfront.
Lindsay added that HRM planning staff recommend hiring a consultant for the project in order to develop a conceptual open space plan for the waterfront area.
“This work could have a profound and long-lasting effect on Dartmouth waterfront and the way people experience it and enjoy it,” Lindsay said.
Council voted unanimously in favour of the motion on the Dartmouth waterfront development project.
