Loyalist Township council has approved the township’s new multi-year accessibility plan for 2024-2028 after public consultation this fall.
The plan is based on the five standards of the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR) — information and communications; employment; transportation; design of public spaces; and customer service.
Members of the public were consulted through a survey that was available online and at township office locations from Oct. 31 to Nov. 10. Staff received a total of 14 online responses, and the comments were reviewed by the township’s internal accessibility working group.
The plan was received by the Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee (JAAC) in October. According to staff’s report, suggestions were incorporated into the draft plan where applicable.
