Cosmo Sheldrake has been announced as a late addition to the one day music festival on Cortes known as Lovefest.
Sheldrake is a UK-based multi-instrumentalist and producer who grew up partially on Cortes. He has been releasing music for 10 years now and his third album, Eye to the Ear, was released on April 12.
“He brings a different type of energy to anyone else who’s on the bill. He’s gonna be mixing electronic with folk music, and he just has an energy about him and a passion which I think is palpable,” said Benji Duke, co-producer of Lovefest.
CKTZ reached out to Sheldrake for a comment but did not receive a response.
The show also features Afro-Cuban jazz artist Adonis Puentes and his band, contemporary country songwriter Elise LeBlanc, blues keyboardist Doc Fingers, B.C. performer Rick Scott, and a retrospective set by Anne Mortifee and her band.
Lovefest is Saturday, Aug. 10 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
