The Whaletown Community Club (WCC) is hosting Pride events this weekend and, for the first time on Cortes, the Sweeth Tooth Burlesque Revue will be part of the lineup.
Connie Quayle, one of the organizers, shared a bit about the performance troupe that will be featured from Nanaimo.
“Four performers doing a bit of drag, a bit of burlesque, some Vaudeville action. All with a little bit of a pirate flavour.”
Cortes Pride is also pirate-themed this year; the WCC will host its event on Saturday, June 22, which will include an all-ages outdoor event during the day, and mature entertainment slated for the evening, it is a free event, and all donations help fund future pride events.
