With November designated as Gender-based Violence Month, Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre in Cobourg is in the midst of its “Wrapped in Courage” Campaign.
Residents of Northumberland County are encouraged to wear a purple scarf to show support and solidarity. Executive Director Nancy Johnston says Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre serves approximately 2000 people, including children each year.
She says while helping those impacted by gender-based violence, education and prevention programming is needed. By educating youth and males, the goal is to create broader conversations about violence and what can be done to prevent it.
Johnston spoke to CFWN News about the “Wrapped in Courage” campaign.
