It’s been years since buses in the city of Corner Brook were so full that some passengers had to be left at bus stops. It’s a new issue now and staff are working to find solutions. Mayor Jim Parsons says a couple of new larger buses have been added this week, which means capacity has doubled. He says the city is looking at other initiatives, including transit options for those with accessibility needs and will be rolling out new ways in the new year to get people where they need to go. A recent Accessible Transit study by Dillon Consulting identified capacity challenges with Corner Brook’s transit system. The recommendation was the need for larger capacity buses.
