Mayor Jim Parsons is worried about the lack of a current federal-provincial agreement on capital funding.
He says the city relies on tax payers money to run everything on a balanced budget. On Bayfm with Lenny Benoit, the mayor says the only financial help from the provincial and federal governments are with capital projects. Governments share in the total cost, but Parsons says there hasn’t been any federal provincial agreement on infrastructure for the last year or so. Parsons says this creates a real desert of funding which could mean next year’s construction season could be missed.
