Corner Brook is welcoming a group of people this week who are here with the intention of developing a marketing and branding for the region.
It’s part of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)’s Strategic Tourism for Areas and Regions, or STAR Program. Mayor Jim Parsons says the city realized long ago that they are not alone in this since people don’t come here just to see Corner Brook, it’s the Bay of Islands and Humber Valley. Parsons says this group is visiting restaurants, going on tours, and staying at hotels, looking at what is offered. He expects to have a report from the group within a couple of months.
