In accordance with the governance structure of the Western Regional Service Board the City of Corner Brook appoints two members of Council to serve on the board. Deputy Mayor Linda Chaisson and Councillor Pamela Gill were previously appointed to serve on the board, however Chaisson has recently resigned creating the need for a replacement. Mayor Jim Parsons volunteered to fill the role but first, cited a conflict of interest since he shouldn’t be able to vote for himself. Bay FM explains the issue.
