The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) say they have now arrested 19 people linked with an organized criminal group responsible for distributing drugs and narcotics in the Hamilton, Niagara and surrounding region.
In a July 17 media release, RCMP say the investigation, led by its Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), involved many police services in the region including Hamilton Police, Niagara Regional Police, Brantford Police Service, Six Nations Police and the Canada Border Services Agency.
The investigation began in 2023, with warrants and arrests that were executed in three separate rounds beginning in April.
RCMP say they seized large quantities of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, prescription pills, multiple firearms, ammunition, ballistic vests, Canadian currency, and other items believed to be used in group’s criminal activities.
Police say that three alleged leaders of the group all face multiple drug and criminal related charges; Sean Bixby, David Langhorn, and Dwayne Smith.
