Darker days and dropping temperatures presents challenges for Prince George residents, but also an opportunity to dance as the ColdSnap winter music festival approaches. The festival, known to run across nine days, is condensed from February 5th to 9th this 2025. Communications & Operations Director Katherine Benny says the organization is proud to bring forward an all access pass this time around, a first for the fest which now features events all day long and well into the night. A change from an hourglass shaped schedule pinching morning from evening.
As our local winter music fest develops, so does the festival scene across Canada, indicates Erica Maier of the attending Doom Wop Surf enterprise The Garry’s, “It’s really exciting to see that in Canada maybe we’re leaning into more of the lifestyle,” she continues, “we’re resilient people and we experience winter for sometimes more than half of the year!”
