Cobourg’s Jacob Harnden has committed to play golf for Northeast Community College in Nebraska starting next fall.
The Cobourg Collegiate Institute student athlete opted to go the community college route rather than university, knowing he could still sign with a university based NCAA team in the future. Receiving a full scholarship was a determining factor in choosing to go to Nebraska.
This past summer he played regular tournaments in the United States.
Though noting it’s an expensive sport to play, Harden encourages youth to take up the sport if they have the financial means to do so.
CFWN spoke with Harnden about his decision to choose Northeast Community College.
