The Cobourg Cougars junior A hockey club is preparing for the season.

Friday night, the Cougars head to Trenton for their 2024-24 Ontario Junior Hockey League season opener against the host Golden Hawks. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Gardens. 

It will be a re-match of last season’s Eastern Conference final – which the Golden Hawks won in six games – but with new-look lineups.

The Cougars home opener is Monday at 7 p.m. against the Markham Royals at the Cobourg Community Centre.

CFWN spoke with new Cougars captain Jesse English and head coach Connor Armour ahead of the season opener.
