Four candidates have put their names forward in the Russell Township by-election for councillor. Charles Armstrong, Jean-Yves Otis, Julian Hunt and Jevon Rudder all had their nomination papers in by the August 16 deadline.
In other news, Casselman Mayor Genevieve Lajoie said the town is considering a new water source which could cost $100 million; the Ottawa-Carleton Plowing Match is this Friday and Saturday in Sarsfield; Miller Waste says it has received permission from the province to take residential waste in the proposed CRRRC; and the JP St. Pierre Award is seeking nominations for outstanding community members in the UCPR.
