While Parliament is prorogued in Ottawa until March 24th, 2025, the City of Prince George’s Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs received unanimous support from City Council to send a letter reminding Parliamentarians to keep Bill C-277 on their agenda. This is one of two mental health related initiatives the committee put forward as the new year began. While Bill C-277 outlines a national strategy for brain injuries, the committee is also asking the Provincial NDP government to build some of its proposed psychiatric care beds in Prince George.
Committee member, and former CFURadio host, Councillor Garth Frizzell joined us in the studio to articulate the importance of these initiatives and explain the role of our municipality’s Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs.
